Y qué es un dato si no una idea, una "una representación simbólica" de la realidad. Según Marshal mc Luhan los medios son extensiones del hombre y su idea de que "el medio es el mensaje" se puede interpretar de la siguiente manera: Internet es la extensión de las ideas del hombre. La idea es muy parecida a la de Platón que decía que el mundo real es la copia del mundo de las ideas "Topos Uranos". Internet es el "Topos Uranos", la extensión de las ideas, ideas por supuesto repetidas: datos. Si cambiamos el mundo de las ideas, (si cambiamos los datos), es muy probable que cambiemos el mundo de la vida. Pienso en una película que fue hecha para Internet, "Zeitgeist", que presenta nuevos datos con lo que se corrobora un supuesto engaño del cristianismo.
